At Newton and Wellesley Alzheimer Center we care for residents in the mid- to late stages of Alzheimer’s disease and with other forms of dementia. We are very proud that our caregivers have achieved our 10th deficiency-free annual survey. This means that since 2000, we have received such a survey every year except one. We have also won Step I and Step II Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association (AHCA).
On behalf of our team of caregivers and support staff, thank you for considering our healthcare center. We offer a full range of medical services to meet the individual needs of our residents, including short-term rehabilitative services and long-term skilled care. Working with the resident’s physician, our staff – including medical specialists, nurses, therapists, nutritionists, dietitians and social workers – establishes a comprehensive treatment plan intended to restore you or your loved one to the highest practicable potential. Our goal is to provide quality care in a comfortable, compassionate setting, demonstrating on a daily basis our guiding principle of providing Quality Through People.

Our center accommodates 110 residents. We are an all-Alzheimer’s facility providing care to residents with mid- to end-stage dementia. We also offer a specialized rehabilitation program for residents with dementia following surgery, or a decline related to an episodic illness. Our on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapies utilize interventions with specific approaches for dementia patients. Our staff is trained in clinical and academic Alzheimer’s care. Our innovative activities program is designed to be "failure free" and tailored to the abilities of the residents. It is our goal to provide the optimum quality of life for each resident. We engage each resident in all aspects of life. We have a good survey record with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, with 10 deficiency free surveys. Newton and Wellesley was named a recipient of a 2005 Step II Quality Award from the American Health Care Association. In 2004, Newton and Wellesley received a Step I Quality Award.
